Dr. Shapiro is the Associate Vice President, Environmental Health & Safety with Montefiore Health System, where he is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for 15 hospitals, a research-intensive medical school, and 350 off-site locations. He is responsible for multiple programs, including biological and chemical safety, laboratory safety, and the emerging infectious disease unit. Dr. Shapiro has a DrPH from New York Medical College. He received his Masters of Public Health in Health Policy and Management at New York Medical College, and Bachelors of Science at Indiana University in Bloomington.
