Varro Life Sciences Celebrates Grand Ribbon-Cutting in St. Louis

Varro Life Sciences recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of its new $42.5 million R&D lab in St. Louis’ Cortex Innovation District. The event drew state and local leaders who highlighted both the company’s momentum and the region’s growing reputation as a hub for life sciences.

Governor Mike Kehoe emphasized the significance of the expansion, noting that it “further reinforces St. Louis’ status as a leading hub for innovative employers.”¹

Varro’s leadership also expressed excitement about the city’s role in the company’s growth. “We are thrilled to expand our footprint in St. Louis … this city offers a diverse and educated workforce, world-class research institutions … and an entrepreneurial spirit that make it an ideal home for Varro’s growth,” said Tom Cirrito, PhD, co-founder and CEO.²

Michelle Hataway, Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development, praised the investment’s broader impact: “DED is thrilled to support innovators like Varro Life Sciences as they forge new paths … investing in their communities, developing groundbreaking technology, and helping Missourians prosper.”³

The ribbon-cutting marks more than just the launch of a new facility—it represents Varro’s growing momentum toward advancing biosensor technologies and creating opportunities that benefit both the region and the industry.
