Real-time pathogen detection at the point of care and in field environments
The Microimmuno-Electrode (MIE) is Varro Life Sciences’ flagship biosensor, engineered to deliver real-time pathogen detection at the point of care and in field environments. This platform integrates biological specificity with electrochemical precision, providing rapid and highly reliable results.

How it Works
The Microimmuno-Electrode (MIE) is a rapid testing platform that combines Varro’s unique nanobody technology with a highly sensitive sensor. Each sensor can be matched with a nanobody that locks onto a specific pathogen. When a match occurs, the system instantly reads the signal and delivers results in under 60 seconds.
Key Advantages:
- Unmatched accuracy: Nanobody-based sensors deliver highly specific results across viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
- Faster answers: Traditional lab tests like PCR take at least 15 minutes; the MIE delivers reliable results in about a minute.
- Flexible design: Sensors can be built for single-use testing or to detect multiple pathogens at the same time.
- Proven confidence: Validated in clinical settings, the MIE has shown superior accuracy compared to standard methods, giving users results they can trust.
Applications
The MIE is built for real-world use across healthcare, agriculture, government, and built environments. It can be deployed in hospitals, long-term care facilities, food production sites, public safety programs, or portable field units—anywhere that fast, reliable pathogen detection is critical for decision-making.
