Brian has more than 30 years of immunology, cell biology, and biotechnology laboratory experience in academia and in the biopharmaceutical industry at such companies as Pfizer, Medimmune/Astra Zeneca, and Merck. He began his career at the Washington University School of Medicine Pathology Department in the Emil Unanue Lab, where he became highly proficient at immunology, microbial and mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, antibody discovery, flow cytometry, and molecular biology. At Pfizer he was an original member of their first Cell Line Development Division, where he was part of a team that developed high throughput cloning and screening methodology. He later was part of a group at Merck who created their first novel in-house transfectant host cell used to vastly improve the production process for Keytruda. Brian received his bachelor’s degree in biology with a chemistry minor from Southern Illinois University, and his master’s degree in cell and molecular biology from St. Louis University.
