Fatemeh Fathi joined Varro in October 2025 after completing her Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she developed next-generation electrochemical biosensors for real-time detection of cardiac and neurological biomarkers. Her research explored how peptides, antibodies, and DNA receptors interact on gold and bimetallic electrode surfaces, combining electrochemistry, surface science, and materials engineering to design sensitive, regenerable sensors.
At Varro, Fatemeh brings her passion for translating academic innovation into practical technology. She focuses on electrode functionalization and assay optimization for the company’s MIE platform, helping advance continuous and real-time biomarker monitoring. She enjoys working at the intersection of chemistry and engineering, where creative problem-solving meets real-world biomedical impact.
